Week 1 saw new teammates gelling together, while others started the season off slow. As always, I always skip the Thursday night game, but congrats to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets on a hard-fought win over the Bills. Last week, I picked 10/15 correctly. Here’s my Week 2 predictions:
1) Saints 31-34 Giants
Last year was a high-scoring affair. I expect the same again this year but with a different outcome
2) Titans 14-31 Lions
Marcus Mariota struggled to hold on to the football last week, where his new running back Demarco Murray impressed. Matt Stafford and a rejuvenated offence will be too strong.
3) Cowboys 20-14 Redskins
I’m focusing on my favourite rookie duo again this week. Zeke will break out for 100 yards in this game.
4) Chiefs 24-20 Texans
These two met in last year’s playoffs, with the Chiefs blowing Houston away. A closer affair this time, but with a similar outcome.
5) Dolphins 13-21 Patriots
Patriots had a great win over the Cardinals and Jimmy Garoppolo will continue this momentum, despite Gronk not playing.
6) Ravens 17-9 Browns
Not expecting a high-scoring affair. Browns already down without RG3.
7) 49ers 14-31 Panthers
Panthers will be too strong at home. More interested in the Niners quarterback off the field than the one on it.
8) Bengals 24-27 Steelers
Steelers to edge out the Bengals in a thriller. The best rivalry in the NFL right now.
9) Buccaneers 17-27 Cardinals
Cards will bounce back by picking off Jameis twice in this game.
10) Seahawks 10-13 Rams
Both offences seem to be down, which is why I have the Rams stealing it at the end.
11) Falcons 27-31 Raiders
Michael Crabtree to catch for over 100 yards in this one.
12) Jaguars 30-24 Chargers (OT)
My overtime pick of the week. Jags to pick off Rivers in overtime and score a pick six for the win.
13) Colts 17-20 Broncos
Broncos’ defense will rally and force 3 turnovers from Andrew Luck (2 picks and 1 fumble).
14) Packers 17-13 Vikings
Sam Bradford will make this game closer than Shaun Hill. Enough said.
15) Eagles 34-24 Bears
Carson Wentz will continue his strong start to the year, throwing 3 TDs. All three to Jordan Matthews. Kevin White will get his first score for the Bears as well.
