The Superstar Shakeup is here! Both RAW and SmackDown Live over the next couple of days will have wrestlers jump ship from one show to the other. Some of these moves may change the landscape of the WWE for the next year and we could be looking at two very different shows from next week onwards. SD Live’s Apollo Crews has already been announced as the first superstar to jump to RAW. Who will join him? And who SD Live get in return? Here’s some of my big predictions:
PICK #1: SD Live – Enzo & Cass
The SmackDown Live tag team division has been in a bit of shambles as of late, with The Usos and American Alpha being the only legitimate contenders on the roster, while The Vaudevillains are no more due to Simon Gotch’s release. Why not add one of the most popular teams on RAW to shakeup the tag division? Enzo & Cass have become lost in the shuffle and with The Hardy Boys and The Revival joining the red brand over the past week, it looks like we won’t see the Certified Gs wear the tag straps anytime soon. A move to SD Live would make them a legitimate threat and give the blue brand’s tag division a little boost.
PICK #1 – RAW – Heath Slater & Rhyno
With rumors of “former tag team champions” making their way to RAW, don’t expect anyone big. Slater & Rhyno haven’t been up to much ever since they lost the SD Live tag titles late last year. A move to RAW could rejuvenate these two.
PICK #2 – RAW – Becky Lynch
Becky is one of my favorite superstars on the women’s roster, but as of late she’s grown a bit stale with her character. A move to RAW, where she would be reunited with her Four Horsewomen teammates, may help Becky find her spark again.
PICK #2 – SD Live – Charlotte
Unfortunately, the Four Horsewomen reunion won’t last for long as Charlotte gets moved to SmackDown Live. Arguably the top female in the WWE, this move would give SD Live’s tag division a huge boost and would make her an immediate threat for Naomi’s SD Women’s Championship. Imagine the matches she could have with Mickie James, Natalya and Alexa Bliss as well.
PICK #3 – RAW – Luke Harper
A move to RAW would allow Harper to fully break away from the Wyatt Family and break out on his own. He could immediately be inserted in the US Title picture and the matches he could have with guys like Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe could be classics.
PICK #3 – SD Live – Sami Zayn
Sami’s been booked as one of the biggest underdogs over the past year, getting lost in the shuffle and losing big matches. RAW missed the boat booking Sami correctly as the true underdog and a move to the blue brand would allow him to shine. He could challenge for the Intercontinental title and be a staple of the mid-card for the next year.
PICK #4 – RAW – Dean Ambrose
Ambrose has grown stale ever since he lost the WWE Championship to AJ Styles last year. He’s also made the Intercontinental Championship he’s currently holding stale as well. A change of scenery would help Ambrose and it would mean he’d have to drop the IC title to Baron Corbin this week.
PICK #4 – SD Live – Finn Balor
Balor’s just come back from injury and there’s not much for him to do on the red brand, so why not move him to SD Live? There’s potential for a huge heel turn for Balor down the line, making him the top heel on the blue brand, other than Bray Wyatt and The Miz.
PICK #5 – RAW – AJ Styles
AJ Styles has been one of the top superstars in the WWE over the past year and has done everything he can to propel the blue brand to the top. Unfortunately, Styles is gonna have to leave the house he built for a new home on the red brand. The endless storyline opportunities he could have with The Club, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe are intriguing. But it’s gonna happen. It just has to.
PICK #5 – SD Live – Seth Rollins
With Styles moving to RAW, this leaves a huge spot for a top face on SD Live. With Cena in Hollywood and Shinsuke Nakamura not being a big enough name to fill that role, why not draft one of the top faces in the WWE in Seth Rollins. Moving Roman Reigns to SD Live wouldn’t do any good to anyone and Rollins could potentially tangle with The Miz, Bray Wyatt and Baron Corbin. Balor being moved to SD Live could also mean a rivalry between the two over what happened at Summerslam.
