WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Predictions

It’s the most extreme time of the year, meaning that anything goes for all the superstars on RAW (unless you’re Dean Ambrose). With WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar not wrestling until next month’s Great Balls of Fire PPV, it’s time to find a worthy #1 contender for The Beast Incarnate. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt will have to fight tooth and nail in order to challenge Lesnar. Who will come out on top in the Fatal 5-Way? And who will used the numerous match stipulations to their advantage and leave Extreme Rules victorious?

1) Rich Swann and Sasha Banks vs Noam Dar and Alicia Fox in a Mixed Tag Team Match

It’s great to see the crusierweights finally getting involved with other divisions rather than being their own distinct show. Sasha Banks’ demotion should be enough to get people intrigued in this match-up. A win here would help slowly push The Boss towards another Women’s title match.

2) Neville (c) vs Austin Aries in a Submission Match for the WWE Crusierweight Championship

This one is a bit of a dilemma. It should be third time lucky for Aries, but in all honesty, Neville’s been the best booked champion in the entire WWE. The King of the Crusierweights should be a moniker that lives on forever, and so should his title reign. Expect TJP to interfere and cost Aries another match.

3) The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) (c) vs Cesaro and Sheamus in a Steel Cage Match for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships

The Hardyz have been a delight ever since they returned to the WWE. Unfortunately, their title reign should end here as Cesaro and Sheamus solidify themselves as the top heel tag team in the WWE. A Cesaro and Sheamus win here would leave The Hardyz BROKEN.

4) Alexa Bliss (c) vs Bayley in a Kendo Stick-on-a-Pole Match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship

Any pole match makes Vince Russo happy but this rivalry has taken a downward spiral ever since the This Is Your Life segment last week on RAW. Both women deserve better than this but I expect Bayley to retrieve the kendo stick first, only to have second thoughts about using it, which should lead to a DDT and a victory for Five Feet of Fury.

5) Dean Ambrose (c) vs The Miz (w/ Maryse) for the WWE Intercontinental Championship; if Ambrose is disqualified, he will lose the title

It’s a bit baffling how the Lunatic Fringe is the only superstar who can’t get extreme at an Extreme Rules PPV, but that’s WWE logic for you. It seems a little too easy for The Miz to win – Maryse can just slap him once the bell rings and the IC title is his. I do feel The Miz should win it again and elevate the gold, but an assist from ‘The Drifter’ Elias Samson may be on the cards.

6) Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt vs Samoa Joe in a Fatal 5-Way Extreme Rules Match to determine the #1 Contender for the WWE Universal Championship

There are so many possibilities as to who Brock Lesnar should face for the title. Despite getting an endorsement from Paul Heyman, Balor isn’t ready to face The Beast just yet. Reigns needs to stay away from the Universal title picture for now. Maybe an IC title storyline with The Miz is a better alternative? Wyatt hasn’t been at his best ever since losing the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. I have a gut feeling Joe may take it out, and a potential match with Lesnar would be exciting, but I don’t buy into a heel vs heel feud for the title. This makes Rollins winning a logical decision. The Kingslayer will win and have the opportunity to become The Beastslayer.
